A short sharp shock of a project is a decent way to emerge out of the summer and focus the mind. Pendulum was just that.
It was Lauren Cooney's brainchild, and she gave me the freedom to record an array of interesting Indian instruments (India being the main setting of the film), and get every last drop of noise out of my trusted Juno 60 before it rushed off to be serviced. Setting myself the limitation of 5 pieces of Indian percussion, the Juno, an electric cello and granular synthesis, I embarked on what was a very satisfying experimental journey for this interesting 'the end of the world is extremely nigh' sci-fi soundtrack.
